The Lake Dessie Studio Experience: Bringing Your Flowers to Life

You’ve saved your special flowers and now it’s time for us to work our magic—turning your cherished flowers into stunning, lasting keepsakes! Here’s what happens behind the scenes at Lake Dessie Studio to ensure your floral memories are preserved beautifully.

Step 1: Booking Your Reservation ✨

Your journey starts with a simple click! Hit the “Book Now” button to reserve your spot. From there, you’ll fill out your collection details—selecting the pieces you’d love to have. Not sure what to choose? No worries! You can opt for a consultation to help design the perfect keepsake collection.

Once you’ve selected your pieces, you’ll place your deposit to officially secure your booking. After that, you’ll receive a welcome email with everything you need to know—including how to arrange drop-off or shipping of your flowers, our timeline, and helpful tips to ensure your blooms arrive in the best condition possible.

💡 Pro Tip: We suggest booking your Wedding Preservation before your wedding date. This helps us prepare and make plans for your flowers to be in the best condition possible. 

Step 2: The Flower Arrival & Drying Process 🌸

Once your flowers arrive at our studio, we carefully inspect them and match them with your chosen collection pieces. Then, the drying process begins! Every bloom is meticulously dried using silica gel to maintain its shape and color. This drying process takes 5-8 weeks, ensuring your flowers are preserved in the best possible condition. During this time we will not have updates about your order. 

Step 3: Designing Your Custom Pieces 🎨

Not all of your pieces will have design approvals (this is due to products having to be designed upside down), but for trays, blocks,, coasters, and various other pieces, we send you a design preview before we begin! This is your chance to see how your flowers will be arranged and let us know if you’d like any changes.

Step 4: Approving Your Designs & Final Payment ✅

Once you receive your design preview, we ask that you approve it (or request any adjustments) within 48 hours. After approval, your final balance is due before we start pouring the resin!

Step 5: Pouring the Resin—Layer by Layer ✨

Creating your custom pieces isn’t a one-and-done process—it takes time and patience! Each piece is poured in multiple layers, which can take anywhere from 3 days to 2 weeks depending on the size and complexity of your order. Rest assured, this careful approach ensures that your flowers are beautifully encased in crystal-clear resin.

Step 6: The Finishing Touches 💎

Once your piece is fully cured, we refine it to near perfection. This means sanding edges, correcting minor flaws, and applying a top coat for that flawless, glossy finish. This step alone can take another 3 days to 2 weeks—because we believe your keepsake deserves nothing less than our best!

Step 7: The Final Reveal & Delivery 📦

We know you’re eagerly awaiting your collection, and we can’t wait to send it your way! Since every piece is handcrafted with great care, the full process takes about 2 to 6 months from the time we receive your flowers. If there are any unexpected delays, we’ll always keep you in the loop.
