Come with me as we explore how I collaborate with clients to shape personalized masterpieces, unravel heartwarming stories behind unique requests, and share valuable tips for brides seeking to infuse their preserved bouquets with a personal touch.

Collaboration is Key: Crafting Personalized Pieces with Lake Dessie Studio

When it comes to creating personalized floral masterpieces, I’m all about collaboration. I want my clients to feel in control of the process, and that means having as much or as little input as they’re comfortable with. Some folks come to me because they trust my creative eye and designs, letting me take the reins. On the flip side, I absolutely love working with clients who have a clear vision, who’ve been envisioning how they want their pieces to look or have specific flowers in mind for each part of the collection. It’s this mix of trust and creative collaboration that makes each project truly special, and I welcome both approaches with open arms!

Behind the Scenes: Unique Requests and the Stories They Tell

Every preserved bouquet tells a story, and it’s these unique requests that add a personal touch to the narrative. Here are a couple of examples that turned into extraordinary pieces:

The Hidden Symbolism: A bride’s loved one who ordered a collection as a surprise to the bride, requested a small gold bait hook to be included in a 12”x16” Serving Tray. The hook held a special meaning for the bride, and my client wanted it to be a discreet yet meaningful part of the piece. To achieve this, we strategically placed the hook under a delicate rose petal, ensuring it remained unseen from the top view but revealed its significance from the bottom and side angles.

Old Hollywood Glamour: Another bride desired to capture the essence of “old Hollywood” in her preserved bouquet, which was the theme of her wedding. We incorporated plastic pearl beads and white feathers that had adorned the outside of her bouquet into a set of 5″ Bookends and a faceted Wine Stopper alongside her all white roses. The result was a timeless and glamorous touch that transported her back to the golden era of Hollywood.

Reminder: Keep in mind that once a trinket or memento is encased in resin, it becomes a permanent part of the piece, so careful consideration is advised.

Adding Personal Touches: Tips for Brides on Preserving Memories

For brides looking to infuse their preserved bouquets with personal touches, the possibilities are as endless as your imagination. Consider adding:

Photos: Tiny photographs capturing special moments can be discreetly incorporated.

Invitations: Preserve the elegance of your wedding invitation within a piece of your bouquet collection.

Bouquet Wrap Trinkets: Include sentimental items such as ribbons, charms, or pieces of the bouquet wrap.

Beads and Feathers: Embrace the tactile beauty of beads and feathers to enhance the aesthetic of your preserved flowers.
